I have been a licensed Professional counselor in the state of Texas for over 25 years and have experience in private practice, education and within a treatment network. I pride myself on my diversity and my ability to help people overcome life challenges to be the best they can be. I started counselling a few months ago when I was going through a very difficult period of my life- my thoughts were invasive and negative, and I was lacking so much in self-confidence. Every week, Amanda patiently listens and helps me to re-think these thoughts and perspectives. I’m on my third month of counselling, and although I still have days that aren’t better than others, my shift in perspective has monumentally changed. I feel confident about who I am- what is in and beyond my control, and I am so much more at peace with how I see my relationships with my family and friends. When I speak to Amanda, I feel like I’m speaking to a friend that I’ve known for years who really cares deeply about me. I’m so grateful for her and that I am able to speak with her every week!!! Amanda has in a sense, reintroduced me to myself. Our first session was 3 weeks ago and I feel like I have known her my whole life. I was lost, overwhelmed, anxious, and just plain depressed. I didn't know how to handle life. Within the first session I felt better. She gave me tools, made me laugh, and gave me permission to be where I am today. She is teaching me to be easier on myself, find my happiness again, and just feel like me. Amanda is insightful, intuitive, and always hits the nail on the head for me.
