There is no way I could say enough about Emily. She is one of the most caring, loving, dedicated, passionate, and masterful people in the talk therapy realm. She held my hand through some of the toughest moments of my life and helped me process some really difficult things to grapple with. I never felt overlooked. I always felt heard. It can be extremely difficult to open up and let someone enter your mind. I always felt as though I had the space to say whatever I needed to say, and it would be received with compassion and understanding. She has a great sense of humor. She has a delicate touch but will hold you accountable. The thing I think I liked most in working with Emily is her passion for what she does. I don't know if she just really likes helping people, or is some kind of angel sent from the clouds to bring peace on Earth, but I highly recommend Emily Perez as a person to talk to if you get the chance. Honestly Emily, thank you so much for being there for me when I was alone and couldn't be there for myself! I will always have love and gratitude for you! I'm a taller, more confident, and overall happier individual after meeting you. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you!

One of my favorite quotes, by Robert Frost, is: "The best way out is through." It is a brave action to enter counseling; I am so glad you are considering this! Walking through a difficult time, topic, or concern can feel overwhelming. My role is to help you feel supported, empowered, and heard along the way. I believe you have what you need within you to create what you hope for, and am here to help you find what you are searching for.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW). I gained my Masters of Social Work from the University of Texas at San Antonio. My approach to counseling is strength-focused, warm, and interactive. I utilize an assortment of reliable interventions, including but not limited to, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My professional background is diverse in working with populations such as adolescents, military families, LGBTQ, and parents, from diverse cultural backgrounds. I practice with intent to help clients gain direction and clarity that I feel each client has the ability to access. I operate within the understanding that each individual is worthy of having a place where they feel safe and important, while visiting struggles and internal questions.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
