Hello! If you are here to explore BetterHelp, you are probably looking for support. I'm glad you're here. I know it is important to feel comfortable and to be able to trust your counselor, especially when you're working through personal or difficult things. Let me tell you a bit about myself to help you decide if we will be a good fit.

I have been providing counseling for over 10 years as a social worker, and have enjoyed working with many different people in a variety of situations. Some of the people I have worked with have had challenges that they never thought they could handle or work through. Typical feedback I get from my clients is that I am approachable, trustworthy, compassionate and direct in my counseling. I feel I have the ability to get a sense of where you are in your life, your struggles and where you want to end up. It's a challenging world out there and if you work with me, I want you to feel that you can trust me as I support you in this process, because feeling emotionally safe is highly important.

I have daytime, evening and weekend appointment availability. We can interact over video, chat or email, depending on your preference. On the days when I don't have appointments with you, I do check my messages regularly. I feel that maintaining a strong connection through the therapy process is also highly important.

If you feel that we would be a good fit in counseling, I encourage you to schedule an appointment. It would be an honor to work with you through this time in your life and I hope you feel empowered by taking this first step.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I got matched with Carrie 4 months ago, and she has been beyond helpful and supportive. Carrie helped me when I was in a very dark place. It isn't a silver bullet but it helps to have Carrie to reach out to when I'm struggling and don't feel supported in the right way by my family and friends. She offered me practical help but also I've benefited from just making a commitment to myself to prioritize my mental health and invest in my own well-being. Well worth it.

I am grateful for Carrie Ison's expertise. She encourages me to work on myself in an organized, safe and realistic manner. She's a great listener and makes every session you have with her worth it. The tools, activities, suggestions and guidance she provides are all relevant to me and my needs. I feel safe dealing with Carrie. It's the first time in a long time a therapist has accepted me for who I am. She did not express any prejudice against me. I hope to continue working with Carrie.
