She is incredibly kind and understanding. I have been to many therapist and they never seemed to understand why things were happening, thinking I had some long hidden trauma.. She seemed to get it instantly and formulated a plan that has been working very well. I'm better now than I have been if or a long time.

Hello, my name is Lacey Schmitt and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I have worked as a professional counselor for over 6 years, focusing on mood disorders, trauma, aging, grief, as well as working with teens, and adults, as well as the elderly. While I have this experience in counseling, I also have extensive experience working in hospice as a social worker.

My style is warm and down-to-earth. I like to use numerous perspectives and tools from many styles of therapy so that I can tailor an individualized approach together with my clients. I believe that therapy is an important space in which a person can feel safe to be their true selves, feel heard/accepted, and learn new skills, as well as grow as the individual you were meant to be. The biggest predictor of positive change in therapy is the relationship - I work hard to be clear, honest, and genuine as we learn about your situation and find solutions together. I can't wait to work together and see the changes you are excited to make.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
