More about Shambra

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • Psychologist

I dreamed of being a psychologist since I was 16 years-old. My initial attraction to the field of psychology was understanding human behavior. As an undergraduate psychology major, I learned a lot of different ways that psychology helps us understand and change our behavior. I began my career 20 years ago as a school psychologist working in public schools helping educators and parents understand students with disabilities. I have a variety of experiences applying psychology in different settings (schools, college, and community organizations). To improve my professional skills, I recently earned an advanced certificate in psychoanalysis and national certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). My years of formal training have helped me become a well-rounded therapist who is able to work with diverse people with a wide-array of issues.

I am guided by my calling to help people reach their fullest potential. I combine my gift of discernment, personal life experiences, academic training, and professional experiences to provide clients with accurate and adequate information to make informed decisions.

I would be honored to work with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
