I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and am licensed in both the state of Missouri and Texas. I have been practicing counseling since 2011 starting with my internship experience in Grad school. I have experience working with people struggling with substance use disorders. I also have experience in addressing emotional disturbances such as anxiety and depression. I have also been working with couples helping with difficulties that they have in their marriages.
My approach to counseling uses many techniques from cognitive behavior therapy to address the thoughts and behaviors that we have that are causing and or contributing to the problems that we face. I also as the need arises use techniques from other theoretical orientations of counseling as they are appropriate and helpful to you the client.
I am here to help you meet your goals and needs. I understand at times making the needed changes in your life can be difficult; I aim to help you make those changes a little easier.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Overall rating:
Richard listened to what I have to say and provides feedback
Very friendly and informative. Caring, and shows a genuine concern for me.
Richard has given me a third party perspective that I find helpful. When you are too close to a situation and you need an outsiders view he is a great resource. I feel comfortable with him getting to the root of my problems.
Richard makes sure to understand your goals to make a plan fit for you. He is really good at touching base and making sure you are going the direction you are looking for.
Richard is extremely easy to talk to and helps me consider both sides of every situations. He builds me up when I’m hard on myself, but is also constructively critical of me when I’m looking for advice and need to know if the problem resides within or outside of me.
He was a great match and I enjoy our conversations. He has helped tremendously how to process different problems. I would recommend him to anyone.
