I have only been working with my counselor Malene for a short time but in that period of time I can say that I have found a level of compatibility and comfort ability that I couldn’t find in my last counselor unfortunately. She is great at explaining what we are going to work on next and I’m thrilled to have her helping me.

Hello,
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Clinician who lives in Buffalo NY. I have worked over thirty year with the co-occurring population. I also have a multitude of experience in care coordination, as an independently living skills trainer for clients with TBI, transitional case manager, and I have been a care giver since 2000. Throughout my adulthood, my job descriptions have all involve caring for individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, traumatic brain injury and other disabilities. I have experience working with individuals who suffer from Major Depression Disorder, Obsessional Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder, Border Line Personality Disorder, Life Stressors, Grief and Loss, Emotional and Physical Trauma.
I understand that reaching out for help via telehealth or in person can be a scary thing, but I want to assure you that it can be one of the best decisions you have made in regards to your self-help. It’s my belief that we as people need someone to talk to but more importantly, linking with a clinician can create in depth conversations, a sense of being heard, no judgement, confidentiality/ one on one conversations, help in implementing and managing positive coping skills, while engaging in solution focused therapy.
My counseling style is interactive, dedicated and warm. I am a personable counselor who believes in respect, expressing different levels of empathy, understanding and compassion. I am straight forward, forthcoming and believe its import to put in the work for successful outcomes. It’s my belief that it takes courage to reach out in hopes to have a fulfilling and happy life. I want you to know that I’m here to support and empower you in this journey.
I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Helps and listens and understanding
Really wonderful to talk to. Very nice when giving feedback and ways to go about certain situations.
Malene is understanding, considerate, and patient! She has been a major help to me, making sure I stay true to my commitments to my own mental health. A number of techniques and frameworks she shared with me early in our time together have helped me to this day, and weekly touchpoints keep me honest about thoughtfully implementing them!
Malene has been my therapist for the past couple of years. I am so much more confident and able to work towards my goals since meeting with her. It is so meaningful to have someone you can confide in and talk to without judgement. She is so kind and wonderful!

I've only been seeing Malene for a month, but have found my sessions with her really helpful and I feel like it's possible for me to be able to cope with my anxiety better.
Talking with Malene helped me to go through the emotions I had bottled up. She listened to me with no judgement, and warmly guided me through issues I needed to deal with.
Malene is a very warm and compassionate listener. She is very understanding and provides a welcoming space for you to reflect on your own struggles and achievements in life. We shared a few laughs, which I really appreciated and needed at times and she gave me small basic self care things that I could implement in my day to day life. Thank you Lene!!
Malene is a wonderful counselor. She treated me both with kindness and professional expertise. She gave me many tools to handle stress and anxiety that I use now, and will continue into the future.
Malene is a great listener and provided me tools to help me build a system for myself when dealing with depression and anxiety. I know going forward there will be both good and bad days, but because of Malene I am ready for them.
Malene was very kind, present and considerate during our session. I highly recommend her!
When I first stated this journey I wasn't sure how it would go, I was in a very bad place. I am so happy that Malene is being the person to walk me through this rough path of self-loving, boundaries placement, facing fear, healing trauma and what not. She is a miracle worker I might say, I do appreciate her help and would totally trust her expertise. She's absolutely great.
She really understands and connects with me. I appreciate her so much! She’s given me a new found confidence to defeat my depression and control my bipolar!
Malene is an amazing counsellor and she really takes the time to get to know you and understand you before getting started with your session. I wouldn’t ask for anyone better
Malene is an excellent counselor and listener. It's my first time ever to get therapy and she made this journey for me a very worthwhile experience. She's compassionate and gets out of her way to help me analyze what I'm going through in order to approach challenges in a new perspective that helps me cope better. Good human being and I'm grateful to have been matched with her.
She's very kind and understanding. She sees through my spirilizing discourses and listens to me pantiently. She gives me the best and most heartfelt advice and I am so grateful for our sessions. She is truly the MVP in this healing journey.
Malene is a wonderful woman. She is thoughtful, respectful, and extremely personable. Her approach is very soft, opting to peel the layers of pain away slowly, rather than ripping through them viciously. This process creates a space of comfort in her patients, which lends itself to trust; however, it also means that progress can seem slow at times. She is very careful to not cross boundaries and to provide trigger warnings at the beginning of potentially difficult or invasive sessions. I cannot recommend her enough. She is the best counselor I have ever had.
I feel good about it so far but need more sessions to make a precise decision. So far we started off a bit slow but has since been helpful
Malene seems very kind and caring. She is patient with my progress and gives me different things to think about.
So friendly and easy to talk to!
she has helped me a lot
Understanding and down to earth
Wow where do I start. Malene is very educated and well versed. She is kind and understanding and supportive but strong and loving. One of the things I most enjoy is malene has goals for us in our journey of therapy. She wants to help me as she says fill my tool box with all kind of tools and copying mechanisms so that one day instead of (or in lou of )therapy I can just reach in the tool box we’ve put together and help myself fix the problem I love that so much! She is very honest but not in a way that makes you feel pressure or belittled but to inspire and empower you to do your best and be your best/better self she’s an amazing counselor and I enjoy our sessions very much!
She’s been great and extremely helpful in the short amount of time I’ve spent with her. She gets straight to the point and is very real and upfront with me without making me feel like I’m being judged.
Malene quickly understood my problems. She took the time to go over them with me. She gave me new perspectives and ways to make things easier for me.
