Hi. My name is Amy L Settles and I am looking forward to working with you. I have been a clinical social worker in Oklahoma City, Ok. for 35 years. I first attended Emerson College located in Boston, Massachusetts where I received a B.S degree in Speech Education with a minor in Dramatic Arts. I also attended the University of Denver where I received a Master of Arts degree in Interpersonal and Group Communication. I then earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Oklahoma. This degree allowed me to pursue my career as a mental health therapist also know as a psychotherapist. I have specialized training in treating Sexual Abuse. I also have numerous hours of training in the areas of Death and Dying, treating Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Couples Therapy.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I have worked with teens all the way up to the very mature.
My counseling style is warm, interactive, and collaborative. If you are looking for a therapist that will agree with everything you say, I am not the therapist for you. I use evidence based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapies, mindfulness, and family of origin based interventions.
Together we can explore your psychological/emotional needs so I can help you in whatever it is that is troubling you. I will work with you by actively listening to what you have to say. Together we will process what is going on in your life and discuss the possibilities of other options. I will give you relevant feed back so that you can continue processing it throughout your therapy journey and beyond.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Amy is very nice and helpful she listens to me, she gives great advice
My life was turned upside down when I first met Amy ….. I was in a long term relationship with a narcissist. She has helped me on the journey of ending the relationship, getting my life back and has also helped me begin the process of healing the wounds that occur in such a relationship. She brings the best me out and helps me see the beauty within myself. I highly recommend her for recovery from abuse. She can help you get on the good path that leads to better days ahead.
She's been super helpful in helping me with school stress and learning to cope with my ADHD.
I've only just started my journey with Amy, but from what I know so far she seems to be a very caring person who sees you as you are. She's supportive and protective of the people she talks with and helps you find confidence in who you are.
Amy doesn’t sugarcoat anything. She tells you how it is, which is great for me. I love her personality, and I look forward to meeting with her every week!

She’s an awesome therapist with a lot of knowledge
Amy is the best ! She really listens and helps me when I most need it.
Amy is very supportive and has effectively guided me through some difficult aspects in my marriage. She is easy to talk with, which has given me practical solutions to apply. Because of Amy’s help and understanding, I am feeling better and able to cope more effectively in my daily life.
I don’t make myself a priority that includes my mental health. When I don’t schedule, or forget an appt, or don’t reach out in a while, she reaches out and pushes me like I need. I feel like we are just having a conversation over tea rather than an appt.
Amy is such a kind soul. She listens intently and pushes you to continue your growth to becoming as mentally healthy as possible. 10/10 would recommend. ✨
She asks questions and she’s willing to listen to the answer. She gives straight forward answers and expresses her concerns about whatever it is you need to talk to her about.
Amy has been an amazing support through difficult times. She has a bright and honest personality that makes for an entertaining, but helpful session. She is genuine and easy to talk with.
