Michael is a great therapist. He knows when to talk, when to listen and when to challenge. My growth has taken an unexpected path, but Michael has been there to listen as I navigate and successfully sort through some of these challenges.

If you are having a hard time and thinking about talking to someone, then now is the time to begin therapy. Hello, I am Michael Zwizanski, a licensed individual and relationship therapist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In my work, I seek to make a connection that will cultivate a safe, judgement-free space to work through challenging issues & promote self-discovery. My stance in life and in my practice is anti-racist, sex positive, LGBTQ+ competent and gender affirming. I recognize my privilege as a white male professional and strive to position myself as an equal collaborator in the processes of growth and change within my clients.
Coming from an entertainment industry background, I have worked extensively with artists, musicians, actors and entrepreneurs and understand the creative process, along with the self-determination that pushes it forward and the self-doubt that can hold it in stagnation. My work with couples focuses on the importance of communication and emotional intelligence as the foundation for healthy and sustainable connection between partners. I am also trained as a harm-reduction and integration therapist for clients interested in working with plant medicines.
Reaching out for support is not easy. I commend you on taking the first step toward a more compassionate and insightful understanding of yourself and thank you for putting your trust in me to accompany you through that journey.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Michael is a great therapist. He knows when to talk, when to listen and when to challenge. My growth has taken an unexpected path, but Michael has been there to listen as I navigate and successfully sort through some of these challenges.
Michael has always listened to me in a nonjudgmental, compassionate way. He truly can empathize with how I’m feeling and offers questions to help me understand the roots of what I’m going through. I will always recommend Michael to anyone who has gone through difficult relationships and personal issues.
Michael has helped me immensely through in navigating my thoughts and feelings in a productive way. Even when I don’t have anything immediately come to mind to talk to him about I still leave every session feeling better than before.
In my experience thus far Michael has helped me work through my thoughts and feelings in a very productive way and I’ve left every session feeling like I’m doing better.
He grows on you. He is very gentle with recommending things if you are a good leader of yourself, but having been with him in times of small and great need, I can say he steps up to the plate when I have truly felt 100% lost and unsettled. I feel like I have a chance of being okay when our sessions are finished and always feel there is more for me to think about.
Michael is very professional and targets root issues. I would highly recommend Michael. I was skeptical of getting therapy for many years and since day 1 I feel it’s like I’m talking to an old friend and catching up. Have been very satisfied with my sessions so far.
My primary praise is that, in two sessions, he has asked questions I have never considered. Although I am still a bit uncomfortable (because this is a new setting) I sincerely appreciate his use of silence. I was never a fan until recently and I am able to see its value for what I will be doing in the future. He validates what I am bringing to the table and he doesn’t diminish things. I feel heard and not dismissed for once.
Thoughtful, intelligent, and kind.
Michael is kind and thoughtful, and often times therapy feels like meeting a friend for coffee. In the time that I've been working with him I feel like I've gained a lot of control and acceptance over my emotions. I would absolutely recommend him to others searching for a therapist.
Michael is friendly and supportive, non-judgmental and has a good sense of where to take the session depending on what’s said.
Thank you
Michael has been great so far! It's been 3 weeks of sessions with him and I feel like I'm already making improvements on myself and my way of thinking.
It has been extremely easy to talk to Michael as he is kind , non judgmental and empathic listener. He has helped me with issues around anxiety, assertiveness and strength exploration.
Going through my therapy sessions weekly with Michael has been extremely beneficial and helpful. He truly understands my point of view and where I'm coming from. I'm so beyond glad I made this decision to seek help for the sake of my mental health and my life overall. I would love to continue this process moving forward as much as I can.
Michael is an incredibly supportive counselor. He keeps professional boundaries firmly in place, but the conversation still feels very open and judgement-free. He is great at keeping me on track with my goals and supporting healthy decisions I make towards meeting those goals. I don’t ever feel pressured into a decision, but there is a guidance there when I am feeling too confused to function.
Michael is very supportive and helpful! This is a new experience for me, but he's made me feel comfortable, safe, and heard throughout the process.
Michael is very insightful and has the right words to say to help us get back on track! He is kind and understands the relationship between client and counselor
