Hello my name is Julie Mitton I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Utah. I have over 15 years of experience as a clinical social worker. I have worked in out patient settings, school setting and mental health settings. I have worked with a variety of clients, including children, couples, families, women , and teenagers. I use a variety of clinical techniques including cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing therapy and solution focused therapy to assist my clients to reach their goals. I have helped people work through grief issues.
I am a parent, and through my experience as a parent it has given insight into helping the families in my practice. I have been able to introduce new skills that empower parents to use the strengths they already have and learn new techniques and skills to enhance their abilities as parents.
I believe therapy is a team work process. We will work together to come up with effective coping skills and become confident through these new skills. Therapy can give new light and energy during a stressful time. I believe it is my job to approach each of you with a non judgmental approach and look for clinical modalities to help each you individually, I look forward to working you, It is best to have a computer or lap top for best connection. It will be important to be connected to your internet. I am licensed in the state of Utah. We will need to be physically in Utah to have your session. I have a cat that occasionally jumps on my lap. I am excited to help you on your healing journey.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

She understands my issues!
Julie has helped me to turn things around after losing my spouse. . She gives good feedback and shares great ideas for homework for me to do.
Julie is incredible at listening and giving the best ways to work through anxiety. She is warm and welcoming and very much a safe place to talk. She instills so much confidence and reassurance that you are doing things right. I am more than happy, and grateful that I got paired up with Julie!
Julie is an excellent listener and a skilled therapist who can guide you towards stating the obvious.
Julie has helped and taught me so much. She listens to each and every concern and always has a different perspective on things that is helpful. Rather than just talking through things (which of course is necessary and helpful), she always has suggestions for books to read, letters to write, self-help workbooks, exercises, etc. There is always more than enough to keep me focusing on my mental health throughout the week or until we talk next. I would highly recommend BetterHelp to anyone who is considering it. Whether you need a little help or a lot, there are people out there who care to listen and offer help in ways that you haven’t thought of.
Julie is amazing. She has given me tools to help me in my relationships and also for my daughter. She engages in the therapy and wants to find solutions. I really feel like Julie cares about me and my life.
Julie has made such a compassionate difference in my life in just a couple of weeks. She is relatable, listens and helps in the way i have needed or request. She points out things to consider in a kind and gentle way. She has a great sense of humor. I love reading and she gave me a wonderful book to read and it has opened up a whole new world. She has been an amazing support and highly recommend her.
I appreciate all her great encouragement! I am finally nearing my retirement this week, then my real work will begin. She has helped me face it with less anxiety. I do feel more positive and able to face the issues with my son who has special needs. Probably only 60% as anxious I will be able to help him
