He’s great!

Reviewed April 2021

I’ve had a few counselors and therapists throughout the year. Randy has been the best by far. He’s engaged, attentive, and thoughtful. The barrier of care over video calls and messages never felt awkward. He took care to offer suggestions, meditation practices, books, and ideas for better self care that were personally relevant to me. During the half a year I met with Randy, I felt very seen, heard, validated, and understood.

Hello!

Welcome to the BetterHelp community! My name is Randy Beasley I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here in California. I have been providing psychotherapy and emotional growth services for a wide variety of issues within a number of roles for the past 10+ years.

A little bit about me, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Biola University and completed a Masters Degree in Theology from Liberty University. I was pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Theology when I felt therapy was a better way for me to help people. I completed my Master of Arts Degree from Touro University in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Previously I worked as a pastor and Christian camp director developing curriculum and teaching. I have experience working with addiction, foster services, wraparound, competency restoration, and couples/family therapy having worked within community-based clinics, substance use treatment facilities, a state hospital, and jail. I have received training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, managing adaptive practices, interpersonal therapy, The Gottman Method, as well as being a certified Mandt trainer (crisis intervention) and strength deployment inventory (motivational values psychometric) facilitator.

I would describe my approach as goal-oriented and client-centered. I use solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and an existential therapy approach to foster awareness while developing pragmatic solutions to problems. Goals are developed together and focused on changing patterns of thinking or behaviors driven by unmet needs, when these change we frequently change how we feel.

I believe healing hinges on the relationships you develop and progress ultimately follows an individual conquest of fear and acceptance of responsibility. I hope to make that journey with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I started working with Randy about a month ago. Since losing one of my best friends to suicide in college, I've gone through a couple of therapists. There's always been one reason or another that we didn't match up well. However, Betterhelp did a great job matching me up to Randy. Randy is the best therapist I've had because he's a very good listener. Randy made me feel comfortable talking about whatever was on my mind. He broke up the awkward bits with humor and made me feel in control of my own destiny. I highly recommend Randy to everyone and am very happy that Betterhelp matched us. Thank you!

I have not met many counselors, but he listens and tries his best to answer your questions without making you feel bad or awkward. I believe he thinks deeply than other therapists.

Working with Randy has really been a wonderful experience. He is very professional yet never fails to connect on a personal level. He is consistently engaged in our conversations, offering highly subjective counsel, never canned or derivative. I recommend him without reservation.

My counsellor, Randy ,has been incredibly supportive of my journey. He’s helped me learn so much about myself and I am a better person today than I’ve ever been thanks to his wisdom and mentorship. I’m very glad to have been paired with him, and would highly recommend him to everyone.

Randy is someone who really listens and guides you through the whole process. I was able to make so much progress with my own issues in very little time by having his guidance. He was able to find a quote for almost any situation that related to what we were talking about nearly every time and it helped me so much.
