More about Rebecca

  • 15 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

Welcome! My name is Rebecca Wilson and I am a licensed clinical social worker passionate about supporting adults struggling with mental health, life transitions, self-esteem, and relationships. With 18 years of experience, I utilize a relational and integrative approach, drawing on various techniques to connect with my clients and personalize treatment. I am humbled by past clients describing me as "kind, caring, understanding, down-to-earth, insightful, intelligent, and compassionate."

Having counseled clients from age 5 up to age 95 and been living a full life with my own personal challenges, I have developed a warm, empathetic, creative and compassionate style. This creates a comfortable, non-judgmental space for working through life's challenges. My therapy "superpower" is that clients immediately feel comfortable opening up to me! My clients feel seen, heard, and understood during sessions. It is also a strength of mine to collaborate with clients to identify the root cause/s of their challenges. I then utilize various techniques tailored to these unique needs. My clients tend to see progress in their mental health, develop coping tools, establish healthier relationships, and experience a greater sense of self-esteem.

I love supporting insightful, intelligent individuals who are motivated and committed to sharing their life stories! My clients are typically feeling overwhelmed/stuck and struggling with family, career, and/or relationship challenges/transitions. They are experts on themselves and possess strengths, they just need some validation and guidance in making changes. We begin with introductions, then dive into your specific challenges. It is helpful for me to understand how you got to where you are today, why you are seeking counseling now, and any prior therapy experiences. If we are a good fit for your needs, we will then create a plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

I truly hope I get the opportunity to support you on your unique life journey! You are taking a brave step entering counseling and it would be an honor to facilitate the process of improving the quality of your life!

Sincerely,

Rebecca

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Rebecca is the best therapist I’ve had. Her kind, understanding, and non-judgmental approach helped me to open up and process the things that had been keeping me stuck and in unhealthy patterns. She has great expertise in relationships, healthy communication, and always made me feel understood and gaining the tools to be a healthier version of myself and to have healthier relationships. My life is completely different since starting counseling with her, and I am so grateful for her support, which was instrumental in building the life I have now. Highly recommend her.

With Rebecca, I completed all of my goals and gained the confidence and tools I needed to solidly navigate relationships with friends, family, loved ones etc. She’s such a sweetheart but wasn’t afraid to ask probing questions that lead to deeper clarity. Thank you so much Rebecca!

Rebecca is wonderful. She listens, takes the time to respond to each portion of the messages I send her and she is down to earth. It is truly wonderful having someone to write to anytime I need to talk.

I started with a different counselor and I just didn’t click with them, and I am so thankful I switched to Rebecca. She is very knowledgeable and goal-oriented. She is kind and upbeat and I feel better after talking to her.

Reviewed May 2020

I have had two different counselors/therapist on BetterHelp before Rebecca. Rebecca is the first counselor I feel like I can actually relate to. I have finally opened up about things, that I haven’t told anyone. I don’t feel judged. I feel safe and it’s very comforting to know. I can say whatever I am feeling and she offers me support and ask questions to dig deeper, she isn’t always trying to give me a solution. Thank you Rebecca!

I'm very pleased with the support Rebecca has shown me. She's attentive and is working on understanding what I'm going through and has offered to help me start to work on things by being specific about what is currently happening and what has happened in the past that got me here. I'm very grateful to be in such good hands. I feel like we have been best friends for years. I feel so comfortable telling her anything and everything. So grateful for this!

Rebecca is smart, caring, insightful, and compassionate. She is able to focus in on key elements that help me to gain a greater perspective on my life and also to help me to tap into my emotions. She has a gentle, safe way of helping me to access my emotions and is able to provide support and tools for me to deal with my feelings more effectively. I was able to open up to her quite quickly in our sessions, as she comes across as genuine and non-judgmental so it's easy to communicate and build trust with her.

I've spent about 1.5 weeks working with Rebecca and have already battled some very significant action items in my life. I am nowhere near healed, but I do have some hope that it is possible. Rebecca is very supportive of what I need and I feel like she asks good questions and is taking my responses seriously in order to give me the "right" kind of counseling. I look forward to her emails each day as a means to keep myself moving forward in life. Extremely satisfied with her work!!

Reviewed January 2018

Rebecca has been very sweet and supportive as I unloaded all my fears and anxieties. She always makes a point to say "what I hear you saying is..." and then describes what she believes I am trying to convey, so that I always know the impression I am giving her and if she is understanding what I am trying to convey. That's very helpful when talking to someone through messaging to make sure you are on the same page.
