Hi there!

My name is Diana and I am licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I studied at Florida International University, where I attained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice. Soon after, I obtained my Master of Science in the clinical mental health track. I am passionate about my work and strive to help those who are facing challenging situation(s) and are in need of support, guidance, and treatment.

My specialty is in Mental Health Counseling, particularly working with adult females who have a history of sexual exploitation through human trafficking. These individuals often report a history of complex trauma mostly stemming from childhood; some are also struggling with a drug addiction that requires attention. In my experience, with this population, it is also common to treat personality disorders (i.e. borderline) along with general anxiety, depressive, and mood disorders.

Searching for a therapist can be quite a difficult process, especially when dealing with the challenges we face on a daily basis. I chose to become a therapist in order to help guide you through situations that may be overwhelming; at times we are left with more questions than answers and we need a helping hand. Trust me, you are not alone. I'll be that sense of guidance and source of support throughout the process. I believe clients’ needs are met through personal insight, understanding and empathy. I will provide a safe place for you to be heard without the fear of judgment.

I am extremely passionate about my work and I aim to be a beacon of hope for individuals in need of encouragement and advisement. Using Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused and other approaches, we will explore areas of concern and develop ways to create a change in actions and mindsets that have been identified as disruptive.

I believe therapy is a unique experience for each individual. My ultimate goal is to help you feel validated and work with you to thoroughly achieve the progress you wish to attain. I strongly believe that all persons possess the capability of consummating change & making healthy decisions. For now, be proud of yourself for taking the first step to a new journey!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
