More about Julie

  • 9 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am a licensed counselor in TX with 9 years experience working with teens and adults. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, ADHD, ODD, and emotional and physical abuse. I have also helped clients cope with current and past trauma.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I recognize the right of the client to make informed decisions and take responsibility for those choices and related risks. I help clients build upon their strengths, gifts, and talents and strive to do all of this in a judgement-free zone. I want clients to maintain their independence, dignity, and respect while working to improve upon their current situation.

It takes a lot of courage to seek help. I am committed to providing services that help reduce the stressful symptoms that brought you to counseling. If you are ready to take that first step I am ready to support you.

I love that she’s a good listener, she’s really good at saying things even when sometimes things don’t need to be said. She’s good at putting good examples in to perspective and she’s just a good therapist all around. She has helped even though it’s only been a couple weeks at this it’s helped a lot.

Julie keeps me on track, determines where I really need to dig up demons and help me process pain from years ago. She introduced me to a “feelings wheel” as a tool to hone in on which type of angst I truly had from previous life experiences. Julie does this with expert care and love as an amazing woman, therapist and fellow mother.

She's very caring and patient. I'm not the easiest or most logical patient with what I've been through so it's been nice to have someone say my reactions are understandable.

Julie is amazing, and helped me so much during our sessions. She listened deeply, gave insightful observations, tips, and things to think about that I ended up keeping with me always. I highly recommend her.

Julie gave me plenty of resources and encouragement as I rediscovered who I was and the confidence to be me. I am enough and I have purpose. I now understand what makes me feel insecure and unsafe. I am so thankful for her insight and perspective as we walked through this journey. I strongly recommend Julie and Better Help for anyone struggling with self esteem.

Julie has been a lifesaver for me. I’ve seen many, many, different therapists (through betterhelp and traditionally) and she is the first one I’ve personally really connected with and have felt comfortable enough opening up to about my trauma. She’s made a lifelong and incredible impact on my life. I can’t recommend her enough.
