Marlene has been a huge help over the last couple months. I experienced something traumatic that affected me as well as my relationship. Throughout the whole process, I was her primary concern and she helped me process feelings, provided tools, & support for me at a time I felt very much alone. She is warm, patient, and easy to talk to. I would strongly recommend her.

I am an experienced LMSW social worker with 30 years of experience working with the multicultural population in Detroit , Michigan and the greater Wayne County area. I have worked with children in foster care and residential care and in juvenile justice placements. I have worked with families, young adults, teens and adults with issues of abuse, neglect, substance use, depression, anxiety, loss and grief, economic hardships, parenting challenges, medical issues, blended and divorced families. I have provided treatment for HIV patients and those seeking support to be the most authentic people they can be. I am willing to talk with couples who are working to better their relationship. I think they will find me a listening neutral ear.
I believe in helping clients find their strengths no matter what life circumstances have impacted them. I regard my clients positively unconditionally. My favorite quote from Winston Churchill is to "Never, Never Give Up." I believe people should be as happy as they can possibly be.
I will use Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered, Cognitive BehaviorTherapy, DBT, and Imago techniques and tools in sessions. I also like Mindfulness to aid relaxation and combat overall stress. But above all, I will listen and learn what you are thinking, doing and feeling to aid your overall emotional adjustment.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Marlene is amazing. She is someone real who is understanding and listens and made me feel safe. I have grown so much in just a few months of talking to her and felt a weight lifted off my chest and in control of my anxiety. I highly recommend Marlene.
Professional, experienced and caring, she immediately put me at ease with her warmth and concern. She was also able to quickly identify my main issues and retain all the information I had given in such a short time. Excellent therapist. Highly recommended
I never received therapy, but I always feel safe to disclose my feelings with Marlene since my very first session. She helps me identify the things I’m struggling with in life and offers effective solutions for problems I face, big or small. Outside counseling, I try to reflect on my feelings and apply what I have learned from my therapist.
