Hello, my name is Ben Woo. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the states of New Hampshire and Vermont. I have worked in residential, community mental health and correctional settings. I am an empathetic, compassionate, self-motivated professional who strives to help individuals reach their full potential. I believe a healthy emotional lifestyle includes learning how to communicate in relationships to increase closeness and social support; it means learning how to believe in your abilities, conquer your fears, and try new things; and it means practicing mind-calming techniques, such as meditation and yoga, and having the courage to heal old wounds while learning how to create your own happiness.
I work with individuals with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, family relations issues, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. I combine different therapeutic approaches based on client's presenting concerns and goals. I use an integrated approach to counseling tailored to fit the client's needs as they arise. The modalities I use include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Solutions-Focused approach, and Motivational Interviewing. I believe trust in the counseling relationship is the most important vehicle towards self-awareness, change, and reaching your goals.
Throughout life we all are faced with challenges. How we overcome these life challenges and experiences help shape us as people. My main goal is to support my clients in both wellness and recovery. I define wellness as having a purpose in life, being actively involved in satisfying work and play, being part of joyful relationships, having a healthy body and living environment and experiencing happiness. I view recovery as a process of change that helps us improve our health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and work to meet our full potential in all area of our lives.
I look forward to working with you.
Be well.
Ben

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Benedict Woo is excellent. He listens to every concern I have and helps in any way he can to get me through them. He offers different ways of trying to handle any issues I may have.
Ben is very intuitive. I feel he really takes the time to get to know my individual concerns and offers great advice, guidance, and perspective. This is my first time in therapy and feel I’ve come to the right place and was given the right therapist to address my needs.
Ben is patient, kind and respectful. He speaks to me not using canned responses or what he thinks I want to hear
Ben is knowledgeable, attentive and kind. It’s always a pleasure meeting with him
Benedict listens to my concerns and helps by suggesting several things to help me deal with my issues
Ben listens well and tells it like it is. I enjoy our sessions together.
I am still new at having a therapist. He is slowly walking me thru the process and trying to get me to understand his questions.
Benedict is a good listener very kind and easy to talk to as well as perceptive. He helped me in a immense way in starting my journey of healing from family trauma and learning how to set boundaries and be a safer place for myself.
He is absolutely the best therapist I've ever had. He's so incredibly empathetic and gives practical technique s to develop positive coping mechanisms.
Benedict connected very easily with me. I could tell we had similar values and that made it easier to open up to him about my challenges. He listened very intently and was able to offer helpful insights and suggestions. I highly recommend getting help from him.
Ben is very good had helping me to use different tools to work through my anxiety.
I absolutely feel like I am talking to the right person.
This is my first encounter with therapy. After the loss of my sister, the stresses of COVID, and marital challenges, I sought out a therapist. My doctor suggested counselling via Betterhelp. I was connected with Ben, and on the first session made a connection. Ben listens to me, and moves the conversation when needed. But mainly, Ben LISTENS TO ME. which is what I really need right now. I always feel better after my session with Ben. He is well versed in a variety of issues, and pushes me (gently) to think about things in a different way.
Ben is great and very understanding. He has really helped me
Though I have only seen him once via video, I have already learned tools to help me in day to day situations. He listens to me and really hears what I’m saying before he responds. It’s incredibly refreshing.
