Hello :)

My name is Michelle and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have achieved a Masters Degree in Social Work from University at Albany, Albany NY, and a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from SUNY Potsdam, Potsdam NY. I have 15 years working in the mental health field. As a therapist in an outpatient clinic, I have worked with diverse individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and challenges. I treat every client equally as a human no matter what your challenges are. My expertise is providing person centered treatment with an emphasis on strengthening your ability to cope with life difficulties and symptoms that are interfering with your ability to full fill life roles. I believe everyone has the ability to find their inner strength and live the life that they want to live. I use methods of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness). I use a strong emphasis on self-care! I will help you find self care practices that work for you to feel more motivated and to feel your best! Whether your looking for some fine tuning or need long term support, I would appreciate the opportunity to support you and help you work through your challenges.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I’ve had experience with a couple therapists in the past and was left feeling like I was the only ever talking. Michelle knows when to let me talk and when to step in and provide advice or ask questions. I’ve made more progress in a couple weeks with Michelle then I have with other therapists in months.
