Mark is outstanding! He makes my therapy experience pleasant and yet very helpful and beneficial. He's very sensitive and non-threatening. I always have the feeling that he really cares for me and is out for my well being. I really appreciate his timely counsel and guidance. He tells me the things I need to know and address, but he does it in a very kind, sensitive and gentle way. I look forward to my therapy experience with Mark each week. I'm much better off now than I was five months ago when I started, and Mark is a major reason for that!

More about Mark

  • 20 years' experience
  • Male
  • LPC, LMFT

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Louisiana. I have worked in social services for over 25 years in various capacities--as a direct care worker in a group home for developmentally-disabled adults, as a staff worker at a homeless shelter for teens, as a licensed counselor in a crisis counseling program in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) working with children, teens, and adults who receive Medicaid. The clients I have helped have struggled with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Panic Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.

I see counseling as a way to help someone express feelings and thoughts in a safe environment, possibly for the first time. My approach combines Rogerian, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Motivational Enhancement.

Counseling/therapy is a challenging endeavor and an adventure. I find those who stick with it come out more mature and more whole.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Mark has been a great help to me and a consistent strong and reliable therapist to discuss my issues. He’s a really great listener and not quick to judge (essential but not all that common among psychotherapists), very open and warm and humble (also not as common as it should be!). I highly recommend Mark.

Mark has helped me understand my addiction and how it relates to my ADHD. He listens intently and tells me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear. He also gives me homework and tools I utilize to cope with temptation. After a few sessions you will notice how beneficial his counselling is with managing your problems.

Mark is the best therapist I've had. No one has ever made me feel so validated and understood. He has this innate gift of reading my mind. His method helps me to figure things out for myself; he guides me to the answers, as opposed to spoon feeding me solutions.
