More about Devon

  • 13 years' experience

  • LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado with over 13 years of experience in the field. I have experience working with a wide age range, adolescents through adults, and with a diverse population.

My own journey of personal and spiritual growth has led me to help others achieve success. I believe in the power of mentors and coaches, and in identifying opportunities for growth and fulfillment. My goal in assisting my clients, especially adolescents and young adults, is to help them break through their perceived limitations and live their best life. If you are willing to do the work, I'll be right beside you!

I also work with individuals seeking emotional recovery from trauma, and those overcoming drug and alcohol abuse and addiction. I use several modalities with my clients, including traditional counseling and life coaching, Solution-Focused and Strengths Based approaches, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), and physical activity and exercise.

In 2016, I published my first book ,“Toxic Terms: 10 Things Never to Say to Kids…But What You Can Say Instead.”

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Devon is more than just a counselor. I always feel so comfortable talking to her, like never before. I’m usually very careful when it comes to opening up, and I rarely do so. With Devon, however, I can talk about anything and know for sure that she wont judge me. She managed to break the walls I couldn’t break with anyone.
