My name is Robert Aerts, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a master’s in counseling psychology and 8 years’ experience working in the Mental Health Field. I have over 30 years’ experience working in Human Services. I have worked with a diverse population through the years. I am LGBTQ friendly and understand the stigmas that come with being LGBTQ.
My therapeutic approach varies on what is presented to me. I practice from a Cognitive Behavioral Theory approach. I provide individual therapy. My communication is open and honest. If I am not equipped in assisting the presenting issue, I will discuss alternative resources and supports that can be a better fit.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

He’s great
Great therapist I’m really happy with him he is easy to talk to and understanding. I’ve had 6 or 7 therapists through better help and Robert is the best so for. Good fit for me
Kind, conscientious, and aware. Listens with intent and offers guidance that is thorough and thoughtful.
He's been great.
Professional, relatable, friendly, effective
Really enjoying my time with Robert. EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
Robert is knowledgeable and thoughtful. I trust and respect him.
Great therapist, easy going and understanding
Robert is very easy to talk to and does a great job of listening and contributing in a kind and practical way. As a female I was at first concerned to be speaking to a man but I've found that Robert is very open and understanding and his years of experience really show so I have had no issue having to explain to him the reasons for how I'm feeling and found his grasps of whatever situation I'm in to be quick and accurate in assessment even when I'm perhaps trying to put something delicately. I would definitely recommend Robert to anyone.
I have had only four sessions with Robert, but I have to say, he is the type of therapist I've felt I needed. I have all the confidence in him that I can in a person. I highly recommend him!
