Sharlin is an incredible therapist. I feel like I’m in a much better place than I was last year, I barely recognise the person I was last year or the mind frame I was in! I want to thank Sharlin so much for all her support and guidance, she really helped me to change my thinking and rewire some negative thoughts and habits. I've recommended BetterHelp to others because of Sharlin. I’ve actually made the decision to stop therapy now but if I ever do come back on here for whatever reason, I'll be aiming to look for Sharlin if she’s still on BetterHelp. Thanks so much again to Sharlin.

My speciality is childhood trauma, I also have a vast amount of experience working with clients who have presented issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, drug & alcohol addiction, eating disorders, lack of direction in life.

I have worked within a number of organisations supporting individuals, couples and young people.

As an integrative therapist and life coach my key principles of my approach is that I build an empathic relationship formed from non-judgment. I explore how the unconscious mind contributes to thoughts and feelings which can affect your behaviour, followed by solution focused therapy to change the current circumstances.

Sessions usually include exploring what you are hoping to achieve by the time you finish your sessions and exploring a plan we can work towards in order for you to achieve your desired outcome. Sessions may include work to be done out of sessions. I do not offer one-off sessions as I want to ensure the clients I work with see results by the time we have finished working together.

I continually undergo professional development to ensure I am adding value to all who I work with. Some of the CPD training I have completed includes: Play therapy, Sex therapy, Couples therapy, Working with metaphors, Understanding eating disorders, Anger management.

I am also a member of BACP (British association of counselling and psychotherapy) and Association of coaching to ensure I am accountable to a national organisation.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I’m currently en route to seeing my mum for the first time in 2 years and honestly Sharlin helped me get here. Broken family relationships are 1 of my numerous issues but she’s patiently listened to me and guided me to understanding how I feel while exercising boundaries. I’ve had many a therapist but Sharlin is worth every blessed penny. She cares and it’s evident. Most importantly, she knows her sh*t.

Sharlin is one of the first therapists I’ve felt free to be fully honest with. And also frankly, I’m noticing the growth in me. It’s uncomfortable at times but she is incredibly patient and open and seemingly bloody good at her job because something is working. I will update this review in some months because we have more work to do, but so far, I think she’s an incredible therapist.
