Chris is the best listener I've ever met. He only talks when he needs to and his responses are always balanced and delivered at the right moment. I think he believes in letting you find your own path rather than guiding you. Personally speaking, it works.

I'm a Welsh person-centred counsellor living and working in the north-west of England. I offer welcoming, private and non-judgmental 50 minute sessions where clients can feel comfortable and safe to explore whatever they're struggling with.

I strive to establish and maintain improved emotional wellbeing within clients. Your goals from therapy will be established then explored in order to gain broader self-awareness, greater self-acceptance and inner peace.

Counselling should help to harness your existing inner resources to work through the challenges you face. I'll facilitate helping individuals to prioritise your concerns, adapt your coping strategies and begin to come to terms with life's difficult events. This is achieved by empathically accepting that your struggles are valid while building your realistic, achievable goals.

What I've discovered to be a useful aim is usually to quickly establish rapport and psychological contact so that clients can begin to experience some of the effectiveness of therapy. I'm also aware that some clients might prefer to spend longer at the start telling their story in a linear manner before we begin to explore aspects of their experiences in greater depth.

Some clients find it helpful to be challenged so that they can break out of old modes of thinking and behaving whereas other clients find it beneficial to utilise their existing ways of being which they feel comfortable with and proud of. Whichever way suits you best, I'm confident to work with you in order to enhance your quality of life.

My long-term experience enables me to offer effective therapy to a wide cross section of clients from a diverse population. I non-judgmentally counsel a range of emotional and psychological difficulties with adults of all ages and backgrounds - helping them move forward to where they want to be in their lives.

Whether you'd feel more comfortable speaking to a counsellor via video so facial expressions can be seen or via telephone so you can maintain a level of privacy; either of these can be accommodated. Alternatively, some people who are used to texting in their personal lives would rather also conduct their counselling sessions via text therefore this method is also available to you.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

His compassionate approach, expertise, and commitment to helping clients have made a significant positive impact on my well-being. Chris has supported me through various life challenges, including relationship issues, family dynamics, low confidence, self-motivation, loneliness, excessive working, redundancy, job search stresses, and general stress and anxiety. His guidance has been invaluable, and he has provided practical advice and a compassionate ear during difficult times. I highly recommend Chris to anyone seeking professional counseling. His ability to understand and address complex emotional issues is commendable, and I am grateful for the positive changes I’ve experienced under his guidance.

Chris is an amazing councillor. I came to him a little over 2 years ago when a lot of my support systems had been pulled out from under me and he has really helped me develop new perspectives and coping mechanisms that are much healthier for me longer term. I can confidently say I no longer feel like I need therapy, and that Chris played an important part in my healing journey. He's incredibly present and attentive and always remembered things I told him, even from over a year prior. I'd recommend Chris to anyone going through a hard time who needs presence, care and someone who knows how to get you to reflect and think on what you're going through.

Great listener, great at asking poignant questions that will help and challenge your existing understanding of yourself or the situation at hand

Reviewed July 2023

Chris was great. I really needed someone other than my family or friends to speak to about what i was going through and he helped me get to numerous solution options by just listening and asking the right questions. I am in a much better place and things are flowing a lit smoother in my life. If Chris is reading- I did my presentation fantastically, which i was struggling with before speaking to him. Thanks again Chris

I have been having relationship problems for many months now, and have been speaking with Chris on a weekly basis. I have always found him to be attentive and helpful to whatever I am talking about, and he feeds back appropriate questions to me that helps me to analyse my behaviour and explore further. At one point, I was working excessively and I no no longer do that and the anxiety has reduced. He is also a joy to talk to. I would thoroughly recommend him.
