My first time using a therapist and, after a terrible false start with another therapist on here, I hit the jackpot with Richard. He immediately understood me and my needs and was incredibly helpful in a very short space of time. He is calm and relaxed, lets you talk if you can but also asks probing but considerate questions to aid the conversation when necessary. I couldn't recommend him more highly and am hugely thankful to him for all his help.

If you're reading this, it is more than likely you are thinking of taking the first steps towards making some important changes to your life. The thought of therapy can often be a daunting prospect to consider and choosing the right therapist is the first important decision you will make on this journey.

Hi there, my name is Richard

I have always had more than a passing interest in human experience, and some years ago this interest led me to pursue a degree in psychology. During this time I found myself drawn to the topics of emotion, personality and mental health. This combination naturally led me to the field of counselling and I decided I wanted to take this further. I embarked on completing an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic counselling with the University of Manchester and have been working within Mental health ever since.

I am an experienced, qualified NCS accredited therapist

It is not always easy to talk about our feelings, and while the support of friends and family is often sufficient for some, for many it is invaluable to talk to someone objective who is professionally trained to help.

As a qualified therapist, I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space that is exclusively for you. A space that allows you the opportunity to talk about any issues you may want to bring, past or present. Talking can help you learn more about yourself or help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

i am an integrative therapist and can offer Person-centred therapy, emotion-focused therapy CBT and Psychodynamic therapy, in addition to solution-focused therapy.

I have several specialisms including self-esteem, Male mental health, depression & anxiety.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Alot of focus on making habits by building up small and consistent changes. Great at reassuring you to trust the process and taking self care.

Reviewed January 2023

Richard is very calm and encouraging. He allows you to talk openly about how you feel, and leaves space to explore those feelings and where they come from, whilst guiding you to a more positive place. He helps you to break things down and gives you tools to use everyday, to help rationalise any negative thought patterns. I have found the sessions really helpful and have noticed a massive difference in how anxious and depressed I feel now.
