Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Although I’ve only completed a handful of sessions with Emma hitherto, she has already had such a positive influence on my mental health and well-being. Emma’s ability to provide a space for me to open up through her down to earth demeanour is truly commendable. I felt like I had known her for ages! She possesses a great deal of empathy and compassion and her dedication to helping me alleviate my stress and anxiety is admirable; she has been so relatable and has been able to provide me ongoing support during a challenging and potentially awkward ongoing emotional situation. Emma has been a real asset to me and I certainly feel as though I’m on a journey towards being in a much better place, with a more robust mindset. This is all thanks to her. I know that anyone who has the pleasure of working with her will be very fortunate to have such an uplifting and supportive mentor.

I have been working with Emma for a couple of months now and I feel like I am finally making progress and trying to tackle my thought distortions rather than just venting to someone as I did with my previous therapists. We are goong through worksheets, practicing mindfulness and trying to call out some of my behavioural patterns to recognise and work on them.
