More about Shannon

  • 4 years' experience
  • Female
  • NCPS

I am a accredited counsellor with the National Counselling Society in the UK, with 4 years of experience. I achieved my Bachelor Degree with Honours in Psychology at Aston University, and then went on to successfully complete my Masters in Counselling at Worcester University. I have also been trained in Life Coaching as well, which I use to support my clients while we are working together. Previously, I have worked with clients who have problems with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, disruptive behavioural patterns, OCD, addictions and phobias. Myself and the client have worked together to discuss and approach these issues while in sessions.

My approach to counselling is primarily cognitive and person centred therapy and mindfulness, but I do incorporate other approaches such as psychodynamic approach into our sessions. The approach will be discussed with you, in regards to what you would like to achieve and get out of the counselling sessions. Respect and compassion is a large part of the therapeutic relationship, and all my clients are treated with warmth, integrity and compassion, always. Communication is also key, and I am always available to listen to any issues you are having within the session itself. The whole counselling sessions are tailored to meet your unique and specific needs, to ensure that your journey down this healing path is as efficient and easy as possible for you.

Taking the first step into therapy can be a scary and confusing time to many. I hope to hear from you and start the journey together.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Shannon is awesome. I believe we have bonded really well considering that we live in different sides of the world. I don’t think I’d find anyone better in my own city.

Ms. Shannon Hart is an amazing therapist. She has a great amount of understanding of the human brain/psychology. She listens to my problems patiently and provides me with practical solutions to the problems. She is very punctual and sincere. She responds to my messages promptly and offers to me a variety of resources such as worksheets, live chat sessions, etc. She gives me her objective opinion whenever I am stuck with something. She is not only a therapist but a friend too. Above all, she's a wonderful human being. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sincere therapy. Thank you.

I was afraid to start therapy and communicated this with Shannon. She quickly reassured me and told me that it was a safe place. 3 weeks in and I am already feeling better and much more optimistic about life. I am hanging on better. I had problems with self esteem and she sends me quotes every day, to make me feel better. A very respectful and kind therapist :))

Shannon has been a real help to me with her compassionate manner and great listening skills. I have found Shannon extremely easy to deal with both in the sessions and in the arranging of sessions or answering any queries. To be honest I was wary of on line sessions as had always had face to face in the past but Shannon has changed my view on this . I would fully recommend Shannon

I have experienced a genuine change (for the better) in only two seatings with Shannon. I love talking to her, sharing my thoughts and she so very attentively listens, empathizes and responds in a way that I feel comfortable. She responds quickly over the app as well and shares detailed explanations and easy worksheets to help with therapy. She's very kind, understanding and also flexible in her availability if meetings must be moved about. I'm so thankful to have her as my therapist and confidently recommend Shannon to others looking for one.
