More about Nadine

  • 8 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP

Hi, my name is Nadine. Thank you for taking a minute to read my profile .

I am a BACP registered counsellor with 8+ years’ experience as a person centred counsellor, with additional specific training in trauma-based techniques and bereavement. I also completed post-graduate study in Hi Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and am a member of the BABCP (awaiting accreditation).

I trained as a counsellor after gaining a wealth of life-experience during an international career that taught me so much about the value of being truly heard by an independent, non judgmental person. However, my aim is to also teach you some tools and techniques so that over time, you become your own therapist.

I have worked with clients of all ages, nationalities and other variables, including with sign language interpreters for deaf clients.

My clients to date have presented with a vast range of problems including depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, career challenges and new directions, OCD, bereavement, questioning sexuality, and issues regarding settling in to new life circumstances / locations / countries. I am also very experienced in supporting clients who have suffered trauma and abuse and who may be experiencing PTSD.

I have worked with hundreds of clients aged between16 to 88 years, and have delivered c.10,000 counselling sessions to date. My client base is very varied, including CEOs of nationwide companies to homeless people living in hostels (I worked as a volunteer weekend counsellor for years to support the latter).

As a therapist, I cannot ‘fix’ your problems but I can support you to identify ways to better manage them, and to reach your own conclusions about what action to take or not take.

My style is down to earth, warm and interactive, and I work at your pace. I treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I do not use stigmatising labels.

My approach integrates humanistic, person centred counselling theory with elements of CBT and other techniques I trained in. Simply put, when we work together I speak in layman's terms and tailor our sessions to meet your needs.

It know it takes courage to take the first steps towards change, but what happens if you don’t take them?

Thanks again for reading my profile. I look forward to talking with you to give you a chance to see if you like my style and would like to work with me.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I’ve been working with Nadine Daubney for 18 months, and from the very beginning, I experienced immediate improvements. When I first started, I was in so much emotional pain that it even manifested physically. But through her guidance and support, I’m now at a place where I can actually plan for the future and imagine good things happening in my life—a shift I never thought was possible. She helped me rewire my mind in ways I didn’t even know were needed, and I’m truly grateful for her compassionate and transformative approach. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking real, lasting change. I truly wish she has someone in her life who is at least half as good as she is. She deserves it.

Nadine has been a very important figure in my mental health journey. She has the ability to dig deep into thoughts, fears and needs, always engaging in insightful and stimulating conversations. She has been making me feel extremely comfortable, heard and truly understood, offering a safe space for me to open up. I have recently regained a positive outlook on life thanks to her and I am so grateful for that.

Nadine is such a lovely person. I am so glad that she is the therapist I was matched with. Nadine always makes sure to let me talk when I need and be silent when I need to compose myself or am unsure of what I want to talk about. She is hilarious and immensely kind and it’s a shame that we met as therapist and client as I feel she would be an amazing friend. I completely respect and trust her judgement and always try my best to take her advice. Nadine has made my therapy session very easy and relaxed, sometimes we have a laugh. I love that before we say goodbye she always tries and succeeds to make sure I’m smiling before ending the call. I would highly recommend Nadine to anyone who would listen. 5 star therapist and human ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nadine hears me out and I feel like I'm being heard. She asks questions both for clarification and also to prompt me to reconsider, she's really thought provoking without being provocative or making me feel defensive. I can almost feel the better parts of myself come forward after our sessions and I've noticed instances where I've better understood people in my life, reducing some of my frustration. No such thing as an instant fix but I see clear evidence of her skill in every session. Reassuring without simply indulging me. I feel so lucky to have found an incredible therapist. Thank you, Nadine!

She's always given a lot through the messages as well as in the sessions. Nadine has been great at just giving me space to express myself and picking the moments to question or challenge without her own agenda.

Prior to joining BetterHelp I had worked with two therapists who, whilst considerate and knowledgeable, were difficult for me to gel with. When it came to our first video session I was expecting a similar experience with Nadine but was completely taken by surprise. Right from Day One she took time to get to know me and just seemed to know exactly what I was feeling, putting it into words that just made sense for me. She has helped me navigate the ups and downs of the past three months just by talking and asking questions to prize out how I truly seem to feel every time. She understands my experiences personally too and continuously encourages me to be as confident as I can - on a more personal note, she is the only therapist I've ever laughed with which means a lot! I cannot thank BetterHelp enough for matching us and Nadine for being there whenever I've felt I've needed her advice, it's truly changed my life.
