More about Mark

  • 10 years' experience
  • Male
  • BACP

I am a licensed therapist in the UK with 10 years experience, both in private practice and for charitable organisations. I also have 12 years experience working in a social care setting.

As a therapist I have worked with a variety of issues including stress & anxiety, family conflicts, trauma & abuse. I am empathetic, non judgemental and supportive with strong listening skills. Additionally, I have helped clients work on issues relating to a lack of motivation, self esteem, self worth and confidence.

At the heart of how I work with my clients is to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared in confidence without fear of judgment.

It takes sincere courage to claim your healing from past or ongoing issues or wounds and I am here to support & empower you on that journey towards personal change.

Note: I am out of office from approx 3pm ( UK time ) on Fridays and not back online until Monday mornings. Any messages sent by clients between 3pm Friday and Monday mornings will be responded to that Monday. I make a point of answering all messages sent from Monday morning to Friday @ 3pm within a 24 hour period.

Also, my method of working as a therapist is Integrative, which means i am trained to use a variety of theories, depending on client need and/ or client request.

Thank you :)

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Mark has really helped me in just a few sessions. He has a really calm manner and is completely non judgemental. I feel supported and like he’s ‘on my side’. He gives very practical advice on ways to deal with challenges, as well as explaining theories to help me understand what is going on. He also sends additional resources on different topics that come up, which are really useful.

A straightforward and empathic therapist, Mark quickly grasped the issue and come forward with valuable insights and practical advice.

Mark is an overall exceptional therapist. He boasts a lot of experience that has already helped me in identifying strategies to assist in my goals. He is understanding but at the same cogniscent that steps need to be taken for a person to improve. Overall, can't be thankful enough for his help.

Mark is in my opinion a very kind and warm-hearted person with a lot of expertise and a very professional way of working. Some of the positive feedback I wanted to give: - He gives very helpful impulses and we can work through the topics in a very well-structured way. He also has the flexibility to adapt to ad-hoc topics, and he offers me also a structure (e.g. via work sheets) to work with, which I really like. - He understands me and helps me to work on my issues to move forward. He always has insights and approaches on how to work through the topics that I struggle with. With him, I don't feel alone with my problems. - He is very experienced and his communication is in my opinion very good. It is a very good atmosphere in the sessions. I would definitely recommend working with Mark and I thank him for his work!

Mark Byatt is an incredible Therapist who is also centred around Christ and Jesus! Huge +1, this is amazing because the advice and sensitivity he provides to each sessions really help you understand that it's not only helping you from an opinion but it is built and standing on the foundation of the Lord. Mark has really hit home and through his Therapy and help, he has achieved the goals that i aspired and wanted to gain, and i would highly recommend him to anyone that needs the proper help and guidance. I feel so much better and without Mark i would not have made my breakthrough i was looking for in my life, walk and faith with Jesus, work, career and self improvement. He is truly wise and i cannot wait for the future sessions with him! Marks an excellent listener, leader, passionate in communication and very kind and respectful. 5/5 or 10/10 if i could rate him. Amen & God bless you all

Mark is an excellent listener and communicator. His therapy is nicely adaptable to my travelling / work situation. I feel like I’m really working WITH someone who sees me and acknowledges where I am on my path to help improve my mental health. Thanks to this past year of working with Mark, I have improved my reactions and responses, as well as my core beliefs. I’ve recommended both Mark and Better Health to several people, and I’ll do the same here now.

Title: Incredibly Better Help. Mark is thoughtful, engaging, wise, kind and encouraging. Even after 1 session I felt relief knowing caring professional “had my back” and was convinced I could get better. He gets his points across with great listening, responding, principles, images and stories. Therapy is personal and you need a connection, so no one can promise a perfect fit but I can guarantee Mark is professional, caring and very knowledgeable.

Reviewed February 2023

Mark gave me a new perspective and biblical advice to further point me to rely on our Lord Jesus Christ. He helped me find more ways to embody my faith whenever I'm feeling stressed and anxious.

Reviewed February 2023

Mark seamed helpfully but recommended I wait until my meds were working before continuing. Better help would not credit my account with the remaining weeks payment as I could not guarantee I would be well enough to continue within the four weeks .so I am very disappointed in the service BETTER HELP elsewhere I am afraid.
