When I started therapy with Shirley almost 2 years ago, I felt stuck and exhausted. I had been in talk therapy for almost 8 years, and felt I had made little progress. I was still stuck in the same cycles, with the same triggers — sure, I learned some coping mechanisms and why I felt that way, but it didn’t stop the triggers that was causing the feelings. Shirley’s approach changed everything. She focuses on an EDMR type therapy, which helps your brain relearn your trauma with positive associations. I was skeptical at first, but the results truly blew my mind. I didn’t need to talk about the traumatic stories and go in depth - that was just retraumatizing and making the wound deeper. I needed to rewire that narrative in my brain, and thats exactly what Shirley does. Its incredible effective and honestly lifechanging. Outside of that, she truly listens. She remembers things I’ve told her two years ago. She follows through, she does extra research, and goes above and beyond in ways other therapists hadn’t for me prior. The quality of your life is tied directly to your mental health, and Shirley understands that. I cannot ever say enough positive things about her. The work she does is beyond incredible and I’m quite lucky to have found her.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
