More about Dana

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC, LMFT

I am licensed in Texas with 23 years of professional work experience. I enjoy working with clients who experience issues with parenting, relationships, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, organizational skills, ADHD, & coping with life changes.

I have training from a Solution Oriented, Family Systems approach. This means I can help with family issues, boundary issues, and general life perception difficulties while focusing on the goal or dream of how clients want things to be.

I believe everyone is wonderfully and uniquely made - with a purpose for being here. I treat all clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs at a pace you feel comfortable with.

I am a warm and accepting person. Your uniqueness and gifts are valuable. I like to find a person's strengths - to 'grow' them towards success. I find satisfaction in seeing my clients flourish, heal, and become independently healthy.

I am not afraid to roll up my sleeves and assist you - wherever you are emotionally, psychologically, socially, spiritually, and physically. As a Christian believer, there is nothing too hard for us to tackle together with His help. He sees you and He loves you - right where you are at. If you are interested in a spiritual component to your situation, I have some education in Biblical perspectives.

Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage. Thank you for taking this time to care for you. I look forward meeting you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I came to see Dana when I was really struggling with boundaries in some of my relationships. I also was pregnant with my first baby and was very anxious about problems with boundaries getting worse once our baby got here. Dana has been such a gift to me. I came to her really not even knowing the source of my sense of overwhelm, guilt, and responsibility and she helped me navigate these emotions. She helped me learn how to set boundaries in loving ways and communicate my feelings more openly and honestly. I was very anxious about this initially, but with her gentle coaching, I was able to implement boundaries in relationships in ways that have actually strengthened them when I was scared they would fall apart. I am so appreciative that she challenges my thoughts and helps me evaluate them. I am able to more confidently communicate my needs and desires without the fear of loss of love. I cannot be more thankful for the guidance and wisdom Dana shared and continues to share with me.

I've seen multiple therapists over the years. Frankly, most are not very helpful. However, Dana is a true professional with vast experience and expertise. Most importantly, she listens carefully, takes notes, and works hard to get to the crux of the problem. She then helps me understand the problem and how to work towards solving it in using a candid but non-judgemental approach. She takes ownership of the problems and works with me to find effective solutions. She even follows up with messages after the sessions, summarizing her thoughts, and providing additional feedback. Being a good therapist takes hard work, and Dana works very hard in each and every session. You can't say that about most therapists. I give Dana a 10/10.
