Very responsive good listener and advisor

Reviewed November 2024

Sophie is a great listener and very client focused. Her style is to prompt you to find out information without prying too aggressively. See can and will identify patterns/issues immediately and dig deeper on them, while definitely still being in the more "you come to me" type of therapist. I've enjoyed my time with her a lot and she's helped me identify triggers and patterns in my behavior that need tweaking.

By seeking therapy, you have made the first step to empowering yourself to overcome what may be worrying you. I am able to offer you a confidential, warm and safe space where you are free to speak your truth and I will listen with empathy and compassion.

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”, Carl Jung believed everyone strived to be the best version of themselves and as a counsellor, I wholeheartedly believe the same. If you have trouble with setting boundaries and self care, I can help you learn to prioritise yourself and look forward to a more focused future.

I am a Person-Centred counsellor which means I allow my clients to be themselves and to focus on goals that work for them without the fear of judgement. I specialise in difficult childhoods, low self esteem, confidence building and recovering from narcissistic/domestic abuse.

I understand how it feels to sit in judgement, confusion and shame and I am happy to work with you to lessen these feelings. I believe that everyone is the expert on themselves and therefore I don't advise but celebrate in the individuality of every single one of my clients, we will work together to achieve an outcome that works for you.

I am licensed in the UK with 5 years experience in the field. I have worked with clients dealing with stress, anxiety, building motivation and self esteem, confidence, unravelling depression & coping with life changes. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage and I am here to support you in that process.

I am currently undertaking further training in Transactional Analysis/Psychoanalytical Theory and am a student member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Sophie is a right fit for anyone that appreciates straight forward opinions. Even though Sophie's approach is person based, and she firmly believes that everyone can sort of help themselves to figure stuff out, she does not let you spin in circles while you do. If she recognizes a pattern or a behavior she will tell you. She makes the sessions fun and enjoyable.

Reviewed March 2024

Sophie is helping me already after a few sessions to become more reflective of my actions and guides me to improve my mental health. She is extremely attentive, kind and allows for a good safe space to discuss all topics.

Reviewed March 2023

Sophie guided my thoughts to a solution and even though the time difference proved to be counterproductive I am benefiting already from what I have received. Thank you Sophie.
