We live life in relationship to others which can be quite challenging at times. We often end up feeling lonely, withdrawn, and wondering if we're good enough, when those challenges arise. Then, when we lose an important relationship for whatever reason, we can go into a deep and complicated grief. We act in ways we never thought we would and can't figure out why. We may get angry easily, withdraw from everyone, look for comfort in drugs, alcohol or food, or have difficulty sleeping. Sometimes we question everything we believe. You have taken a very positive step by deciding to seek therapy. There are no miracle cures. I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstance will change. I can promise to support you and do my very best to understand you and repeating patterns, as well as to help you clarify what it is that you want for yourself.

My experience has been in helping clients with relationships, stress and anxiety, sleeping disorders, motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I also have experience working with depression and substance misuse problems. I believe healthy relationships with others and ourselves are foundational to better mental health. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My approach is client-centered and holistic in that I take a look at all aspects of who you are to understand where you are now and how we can get to where you want to be. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

In therapy I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Forgiveness Therapy, Grief and Loss, Hope-Focused Couples Counseling, and The Gottman Approach. I will tailor tools and techniques to you to best meet your needs. I will meet you where you are and provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to be able to work through these issues that have brought you here today.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
