More about Jessica

  • 7 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMFT

My full name is Jessica Hope Murph

I prefer to be called Jess (she/her)

I have an MS degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling

I am licensed to practice (7+ years of experience) and Supervise future therapists (started supervising in 2024) in the state of Texas.

I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and polyamorous relationships who have endured persistent pain and struggle which manifests in complex trauma, debilitating symptoms, and even their very personality.

My approach is eclectic in design and humanistic by nature; I want my clients to feel comfortable, safe, and like they are talking to a real person with flaws and imperfections just like them. I use humor, I cuss, and I have feelings but my MO is always to hold space for my clients; I work for you and if what you need during a session is to break down then I'm here for it, and if what you need in a session is just to have some specially devoted time to talk about you then I'm also here for it!!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Jess was an absolute perfect match for my needs. She has been so supportive and helpful in encouraging me to trust myself. I have been so grateful to have her in my corner.

Reviewed July 2024

Jess is honestly the best therapist I have ever worked with. She is so easy to talk to and her compassion and knowledge shine through in every session. Therapy can be daunting, but she has made this such a great experience. I highly recommend her to both therapy newbies or people that thought therapy wasn't for them in the past.

Jessica is literally incredible! So good at validating and asking deeper questions. Amazing!!!

Reviewed March 2024

Jessica is an incredible therapist, who makes you feel safe and welcome to express anything you want/need to talk about. I was so impressed with the way she oriented me to therapy before I began, her detailed explanation of her background, strengths, and specialties--- and how she can help you specifically based on your individual needs. We also went into a deep discussion regarding language and culture that was integrated into our sessions. I really feel like Jessica does an amazing job of asking questions/prompts so that her clients learn to find these answers within themselves and to better understand why internal conflicts arise and exist. I feel very comfortable just being honest with Jessica during our sessions--- which is very big for me because I usually cannot talk about the traumatic events in my life with anyone else.

I was so nervous to start therapy but meeting Jess made me feel motivated to go. She is warm, open minded, humorous and has a very relaxing presence about her. I used to dread the thought of therapy and now I look forward to it. Very grateful I found her.
