My therapeutic style embraces working with individuals and families of diverse racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds who may be experiencing a variation of stress and are new or returning to therapy. I specialize in honoring and lifting cultural values, beliefs, and the strengths as I provide insight and collaborate to create solutions and relief for presenting issues while fostering client’s confidence using very effective therapeutic interventions for short term therapy. I hold a Masters degree from Howard University and have also received post graduate training from Ackerman Institute for Families. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State and in addition to my private practice, I also hold a position as a faculty lecturer at Columbia University. Interventions used in my practice include: Solution Based Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment and Structural Family Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. Client experiences may include: anxiety, ADHD, complex trauma, separation, divorce, blended families, behavioral or emotional dilemmas, work place stress, transracial/interracial relationships, same-sex coupling, professional anxiety, imposter syndrome, chronic illness, loss, grief, immigration trauma and a combination of transitional and health crisis' in the home due to COVID-19 related anxiety and depression. Through my practice, I provide practical guidance and an engaging and empathetic approach to social, emotional, and spiritual growth to explore and identify solutions that work for clients.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
