Hello! My name is Dr. Bonnie McIntyre and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) credentialed in District of Columbia and Virginia (LCSW) with over 19 years of professional work experience. I completed my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Gordon College in Wenham, MA, my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a global focus from Dominican University in Chicago, IL, and my PhD in Social Work from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

My professional experiences have largely included multi- disciplinary work to assist trauma survivors of sexual exploitation internationally as well as to support individuals and families who have been impacted by both homelessness and the criminal justice system domestically. My clinical specializations include the treatment of anxiety and depression (including obsessive compulsive disorder) in addition to addressing complex trauma, racial and cultural trauma, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout with clients at the individual and community-based levels. My clinical interests also include supporting clients who are navigating grief, life transitions, and substance abuse issues. I specialize in provided therapeutic services through a faith-based lens, integrating religion and spirituality into practice when this is requested by the client.

My therapeutic philosophy is to provide strengths-based, person-centered support to clients: believing that it is possible for every single individual to enjoy the life that they are building with great value and purpose.
