I have worked in the mental health space for over 6 years. I first began working in the mental health space as a sexual assault victim advocate prior to my completion of my master's degree in counselling in 2020 which I attained from Monash University in Melbourne. While at Monash, I completed my internship at a high school and an EAP agency.

Since obtaining my master's degree and a follow-on graduate certificate in health and human services from the University of Melbourne, I worked in a variety of fields such as in veteran services as a group therapy facilitator, community telehealth, academic advising, counselling in a carceral setting as well as providing clinical supervision to counselling graduate students.

I have provided mental health counselling to a wide range of populations including military veterans, sex workers, LGBTQIA+ folks, educators, international students and immigrants, the elderly, unhoused individuals, Indigenous Australians, and small business owners

Among my clinical work, I also obtained a clinical certificate in group therapy and multicultural counselling from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA.

The foundation of my education and approach to therapy are rooted in Rogerian person-centered strategies. I have training in ACT, Schema Therapy, CBT and REBT. I also recognize the importance of existential, ontological and spiritually informed approaches to holistic wellbeing.

I believe social justice advocacy and cultural competency are foundational to counselling and hold these values as integral to my practice.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
