BPS chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol), HCPC reg.
Hi, my name is Beate and I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience. My approach is person-centred and I provide a warm and supportive therapy environment.
When we experience psychological distress, it can feel daunting and at the same time urgent to find a therapist who we ‘click with’ and who we can trust with our personal problems. My work provides clients with a warm, comfortable, non-judgmental, and supportive environment, where we can openly explore and heal their distress. At Better Help, I offer open-ended, person-centred counselling to individuals via live video session.
Person-centred counselling is a type of therapy that focuses on you as the expert of your own life. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. As your therapist, I offer empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard, helping you build self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth. It’s designed to empower you to find your own solutions and develop a stronger sense of self.
Person-centred counselling can help with a wide range of issues, including:
• Anxiety and stress
• Low self-esteem or self-confidence
• Grief and loss
• Decision-making and life transitions
By fostering self-awareness and self-acceptance, it supports you in understanding your emotions and finding your own ways to cope or create change in your life.
My Background:
I started my work in the mental health field in 2006. Since then, I have worked for various organisations including Victim Support, MIND, Women’s Aid, East London NHS Foundation Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Xyla Services. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a chartered member of the BPS’s Division of Counselling Psychology.
My clinical practice is inclusive, which means that I have training and experience in adapting my work to meet the individual needs of my clients. I work across a range of mental health conditions such as sleep disorders, motivation, low self-esteem, life changes, occupational stress, compassion fatigue and other mental health related concerns.
(Please note that I cannot offer therapy via messaging)

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
